The QC step exists so the analyst gates the classifier and table detector before findings get produced from this case. Every document on the case must be acknowledged before Mark complete unlocks.
Per-document panel
Pick a document on the left to load its QC panel. You'll see the assigned category, the classifier's suggestion (if it differs), any detected tables, and entity tags pulled from the text.
Mapping tables
A table is "mapped" when at least one of its columns is linked to a canonical field in the schema for its detected kind (vendor, employee, payroll, etc.). Mapped tables can be projected into a synthetic dataset and evaluated by the structured-data rule lane.
Not a tabular document
The bbox table detector occasionally finds "tables" in form PDFs (1099-NEC, W-2, IRS receipts) — aligned text regions that aren't tabular data. Click Not a tabular document in the table section to bulk-dismiss every non-verified table on that document. Dismissed tables stay in the database (for analyst review of the detector's false-positive rate) but no longer block QC acknowledgement. The dismiss button also re-runs the document-text pipeline (classifier, entity extraction, tag matching) against the existing extracted text — so any entities the prior pass missed get a second chance.
Acknowledgement
Click Acknowledge when the panel looks right. Acknowledgement is a SOC 2 CC7.2 record — the audit log captures who acknowledged what and when. The Mark complete gate on Ingest only opens when every document on the case has been acknowledged.
